May the odds be ever in your favor!

SO. I don't know if you are all aware of this (but man, if you are friends with me on Facebook or follow me on twitter or talk to me or whatever you SHOULD) but THE HUNGER GAMES came out last week!! There was an advance screening in Glasgow that obviously I had to go too, so I saw it at 8PM at the Glasgow ODEON. AND IT WAS GREAT. Okay, honesty time. The first time (yes, I saw it more than once) I was actually really angry. THEY LEFT SO MUCH OUT. (If you are curious, read this). However, I still watched the entire movie with tears in my eyes and my jaw dropped. Aside from leaving out vital parts (where was the rain? the bread from district 11? why weren't the mutts the dead tributes? no hovercrafts? Katniss could already see the arena force-field? WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE), it was still a wonderful movie. Totally epic. And contrary to popular opinions, I loved the film style! I thought it was brilliant. The film, in my opinion, was definitely more moving than the book was. When you read the book, you know that it's all terrible and awful and why are kids killing each other but in the movie, you actually watch it happen and it just gives it so much more feeling!! After I saw it again the next day (mel problems), I loved it a lot more. Seriously. I need to go again (possibly in Lisbon? WE SHALL SEE) to make sure I still like it and don't get angry every time I watch it. But Jennifer Lawrence is perfect. She is actually Katniss, both in the movie and in real life (have you seen some of her interviews? they're wonderful). I should probably go now, considering I am Inverness (we went monster huntin' today!!) and I need to get up early tomorrow to head over to Isle of Skye. There will be a major, major spring break update probably near the end of April. Sorry this is so rambly. Maybe I will try and update again after this Scotland trip to try and space out the spring break updates? We shall see.

Happy Hunger Games! EVERYONE GO SEE IT.
Love, Mel
